Historical Background
The Chasseurs à Pied of the Old Guard were among the most experienced soldiers in Europe — veterans of a dozen campaigns who had earned their place in the Guard through years of distinguished service. Alongside the Grenadiers, they formed the iron core of Napoleon's reserve, committed only at the decisive moment. At Waterloo on 18 June 1815, it was the Old Guard who made the final advance against the Allied line — their repulse triggering the collapse of the French army and the end of the Napoleonic Wars. These figures let you recreate that iconic moment, or any of the Guard's earlier triumphs from Austerlitz to the campaigns of 1813–14.

Painting & Modelling Notes
- The Chasseurs wore dark blue coats with green distinctions — a striking contrast to the Grenadiers' red epaulettes and plumes; paint both sets to display the full Guard palette
- The tall bearskin with green plume and cords is the key visual focal point — careful highlighting of the fur and brass plate rewards the effort
- The 16 firing line figures are ideal for the front rank of a defensive position or a Guard square; the march attack figures suit the advancing column aesthetic of the Waterloo scenario
- Officers and drummers make natural centrepiece models — worth painting to a higher standard for command stands or display bases
